CAMPBIENT THE 44HR SOUND ART RESIDENCY | 2024
CAMPBIENT is held in a new state park every year, and all audio production and activities are off-grid and battery-powered. By utilizing state parks rather than private land, the residency underscores an awareness of the commons and an obligation for its stewardship. Public spaces that straddle the natural and built environment are rich with questions of social equity and accessibility, environmental justice and sustainability, as well as those of artistic process, critical analysis, and aesthetics. It is these questions that are explored sonically and dialogically throughout the residency. Every year, a different Special Guest Artist-in-Residence is invited to CAMPBIENT to contribute their knowledge, insights, and experience. The video presentation is documentation of Volume 5 of CAMPBIENT, which took place June 6-9, 2024.

HOW TO FINISH AN ALBUM WITH TAME, THE ASPIRING ME (HTFAAWT) | 2023
How to finish an album with TAME, The Aspiring Me” was a site-specific week-long artist residency at The Drawing Room (Project Row Houses), where Houston-based artist & musician, Andrew ‘TAME, The Aspiring Me’ Davis, invited guests into the process of completing a studio album. From March 5-15, 2023, open studio visits from noon-4pm engaged guests in the recording & editing processes, while evening programming included performance art. The community had the opportunity to engage on-site and virtually through the artist-focused live-stream partner platform ECHIO at https://www.Echio.co.
SCOTT @ X | 2022
Expanding upon the success of my 2021 The Idea Fund "SEEDLESS" performance, "Scott @ X" proposed a new way for me to continue my practice of engaging communities with performance art. Whereas the "SEEDLESS" performance had been virtual, "Scott @ X" took on a hybrid on-site and digital interdisciplinary approach with live stream performance art and mixed media. Throughout February 2022, weekly Sunday performances occurred along Metro Rail stops in Third Ward, with the opening performance at the Leeland / Third Ward stop and the closing performance at MacGregor Park / Martin Luther King, Jr. stop. The performances highlighted and drew from the Greater Third Ward's uniqueness and diversity by examining the developing landscapes at each stop and conducting interviews with nearby inhabitants of those areas.
"Scott @ X" was funded partly by grants from the City Of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.

SEEDLESS | 2021 @ Twitch
Seedless was a performance art short film with origins around the neighborhood of Lake Olympia, formerly known as the Palmer Plantation, in Southwest Houston. The film sought to shine a light on Lake Olympia’s significant history and to inspire a new generation of community members to connect and examine local history and place. 'SEEDLESS' was a proud awardee of The Idea Fund 2020 through DiverseWorks, Aurora Picture Show, Project Row Houses & The Andy Warhol Foundation.
SOLEVISION | 2019 @ District Art Gallery
SOLEVISION served as a continuum of the narrative of commonality and likeness I had been telling through previous installations. While the primary methods of addressing the narrative from a still position had been the techniques of the past installations, this installation focused on the split of consciousness that comes from constant motion expressed in live performance. ‘SOLEVISION’ was a proud awardee of the SACI provided by Houston Arts Alliance, The Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, & The City Of Houston.
12 Minutes Max | 2018 @ MATCH Theatre

You Might Like This Installation | 2017 @ Houston Museum of African American Culture
YMLKT Installation was the debut of Houston rapper & producer Andrew ‘TAME, The Aspiring Me’ Davis as a conceptual performance artist.
